Course Overview
This foundational course introduces students to the principles of Arabic pronunciation and Quranic reading through the Al-Qaida Al-Nooraniyah method. Designed for learners of all ages, the course builds essential skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing—preparing students to read the Arabic language and the Holy Quran accurately and confidently.
Course Breakdown
Week 1: Introduction to Arabic Letters
Lessons 1 & 2
Objectives:
- Recognize individual Arabic letters (single, compound, disjointed, and vowelized)
- Master correct pronunciation through guided articulation practice
Outcomes:
- Students will memorize the Arabic alphabet
- Students will accurately pronounce each letter
Week 2: Tanuin & Vowel Practice
Lessons 3 & 4
Objectives:
- Identify Tanuin letters and short vowels (Fatha, Kasrah, Dammah)
- Practice vowelized letter combinations
Outcomes:
- Students will differentiate between Tanuin and vowel letters
- Students will apply correct vowel sounds when reading
Week 3: Extended Sounds & Special Marks
Lessons 5 & 6
Objectives:
- Learn the three letters of Madd, the two Lin letters, and Sukun
- Understand and practice Shaddah pronunciation
Outcomes:
- Students will distinguish between Madd, Lin, Sukun, and Shaddah
- Students will read and pronounce letters with these marks correctly
Week 4: Integrated Practice & Reading Fluency
Lessons 7 & 8
Objectives:
- Reinforce reading with Shaddah, Sukun, double Shaddah in one word, and Sukun combined with Madd
- Review and apply all concepts learned through exercises
Outcomes:
- Students will fluently read letter combinations with Shaddah, Sukun, and Madd
- Students will demonstrate clear and confident Quranic reading skills
Final Assessment & Reflection
At the end of the course, students will be assessed on their ability to read Arabic words and sentences using vowel marks, Shaddah, Sukun, and Madd fluently and accurately. This provides a strong foundation for progressing to Quran reading and Tajweed.
